Every life has intrinsic value and should be protected on the basis of core humanity. We must be voices for the voiceless. Here are a few ways you can advocate for the unborn:
Have a conversation
We live in a media-oriented society, but it is still our family and friends that influence us the most. Don’t forget your voice and impact! People’s beliefs direct their individual decisions regarding abortion, and attitudes undergird legislation that protects lives. The only way to change hearts and minds is to keep the conversation going!
Talk to your family and friends about the risks associated with abortion and present scientific research regarding life at conception. Share the fetal development information and ultrasound videos from www.youranswermatters.org. With social media, we can also connect with people across the country and globe. Contribute to discussion forums on the topic of abortion, engage with social media posts about abortion and new legislation, and share relevant posts/articles to keep the people in your network informed. Furthermore, share resources that may benefit women and couples who are faced with unintended pregnancies.
Volunteer your time
There are many additional ways you can volunteer your time in advocating for the unborn. Consider participating in peaceful prayer events and marches, like March for Life, Life Chain, or 40 Days for Life. There are national and local events across the country.
Second, consider volunteering at your local pregnancy centers or women’s shelters. The best way to help the unborn is to help women. Women seeking assistance at a pregnancy center or shelter need compassion and empathy. Be the reason an expectant mother finds the resources she needs to give her child the life they deserve.
If you cannot donate your time to these centers, consider donating material items like baby clothes, diapers, formula, etc. Click here to locate a pregnancy center near you and inquire about volunteer opportunities.
Donate to organizations you’re passionate about
Many pro-life organizations across the nation are working every day to further the movement by hosting educational events and advocacy opportunities, providing financial and material assistance to new or expecting mothers, and speaking with legislators about protecting the unborn’s Right to Life. Since many of these organizations are non-profits, they require donations to continue making strides.
Find and follow legitimate organizations that represent your values and are active participants in the pro-life movement. Donate to these organizations so they can continue their vital work.
The unborn, women, men and families deserve better than abortion. This is the compassion issue of our day. We hope you find your place in this effort to build a society which welcomes and protects each human life from conception until natural death.
