We often talk about the women struggling to make a decision regarding the fate of their unborn babies, but what about the women who already have? Please share these post-abortive resources for women healing physically and emotionally:
Support After Abortion
Support After Abortion is a non-profit organization that partners with over 800 agencies to provide compassionate, individualized care for post-abortive women on their healing journeys. This organization offers peer-led or clinical, religious or secular, and in-person or virtual healing services.
Post-abortive women can find emotional support through the After Abortion Line via text/call (844-289-4673), webchat, or email. The After Abortion Line can also help women locate a local support group. These services are available to post-abortive men as well.
Support After Abortion also offers multiple self-guided online programs that allow women to navigate growth and recovery, as well as explore childhood pain and trauma — all free of charge.
This organization also hosts webinars, clinical meetings, and conference training to equip counselors, clinicians, and other providers to support those impacted by abortion.
Option Line
Another great resource for post-abortive women is Option Line. Option Line not only provides judgment-free emotional support via text (1-800-712-4357), call (1-800-712-HELP), or live chat but also enables women to locate a pregnancy center near them.
Many pregnancy centers offer a wide range of post-abortive services, such as post-abortion follow-up appointments and counseling/mentorship. Staff and volunteers are trained to provide compassionate care. Many of these pregnancy centers offer referrals for women needing medical assistance during their recovery journeys.
Option Line can also help women locate local support groups and weekend retreats for those struggling post-abortion. Help is available for post-abortive men as well.
